Howe Safety & Defense was founded on the premise of providing individuals with quality firearms and self-defense training solutions. We are dedicated to providing our students with the knowledge and skills needed to defend themselves and their loved ones from violence and threats of harm. Our training is tailored to the individual who understands the importance of being prepared to defend themselves from danger, but who may have little or no previous firearms or self-defensive training.  

Howe Safety & Defense is a, “Minnesota Department of Public Safety,” approved firearms training company, and a business authorized to certify Minnesota firearms instructors.

Owner & Principal Instructor (Michael R. Howe)

Michael is the Owner and Principal Instructor for Howe Safety & Defense. In addition, to his owner and instructor responsibilities within Howe Safety & Defense, Michael is also employed as a Safety & Security Director of a community and technical college in Southern Minnesota. In this role he oversees all college Safety and Security programs; as well as, provides professional safety and regulatory consultation to academic programs. Michael has worked in the Environmental/Health/Safety (EHS), Security, and Emergency Preparedness fields for 20+ years.
