Class Description:
The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) allows qualified retired LEOs (RLEOs) to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction of the United States (regardless of state or local laws) with some exceptions.
An individual who qualifies under LEOSA does not need a state-issued carry permit to carry a concealed firearm.
Howe Safety & Defense, LLC. administers shooting qualifications that meet Minnesota peace officer training requirements as specified in the document titled, “In-Service Use of Force Learning Objectives for Peace Officers and Part-Time Peace Officers.”
Howe Safety & Defense, LLC. does not certify to an individual’s personal eligibility to carry a concealed firearm under LEOSA. Howe Safety & Defense, LLC. only certifies to the individual completing the shooting qualification.
In-Class: 0 hours
Range: 1 hour
Prerequisite:
Must be a current resident of Minnesota.
Meets RLEO eligibility criteria. This includes past service as a LEO for an aggregate of ten years, and being separated from service in good standing.
Peace officer license or certificate was not revoked or surrendered.
Not prohibited from carrying a firearm for reasons of physical or mental health.
Not prohibited from possessing a firearm under federal law.
